My formal education includes Bachelor of Science Degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology.  I graduated with high honors in 1995.  I attended the University of South Dakota Graduate School for Clinical Psychology and graduated in 2002.

I strive to keep abreast of the most recent trends in mental health. I have trained as a generalist practitioner with specialization with individuals who have serious mental illness. My formal training continues on a regular basis through continuing education.

I have worked in both the public and private sectors. I am current employed at the Veterans Health Care Administration where I have done program development and administration. I am a Certified Master Trainer in Social Skills Training. I have also performed disability evaluations through the Veterans Healthcare Administration and Social Security Disability. I am on the faculty at USD Sanford School of Medicine where I am an Instructor and Clinical Supervisor to Medical Residents. My background is diverse, including psycholegal consultation, psychological evaluations, and public speaking.

Informally, my life experiences have helped me learn to apply psychological principals to everyday events.  They have allowed me to go beyond "book learning," to real life application in predicting and understanding human behavior.  The informal part of my education has given me wisdom and the ability to assist you in getting the help you need.
